How many days and years,
centuries and eras
will ultimately pass,
before it’s safe to use our voice?
How many battles and insults,
warnings and judgments
will we need to endure,
before we realize we have a choice?
How many preachers and players,
misogynists and mama’s boys
will brazenly insult us,
before we drown out their noise?
How many mothers and daughters,
sisters and lovers
will continue to fight,
until there’s a reason to rejoice?

I’m thrilled you’ve “visited me,” Kimberly, and that you enjoyed my post! Your blog is one I visit regularly, to soak up the keen insights and heartfelt encouragement you generously share. You paintings are deeply moving; their primal origins and thoughtful composition are exquisite truths made visible. It’s wonderful to “meet” you!

Beautiful poetic thought shared. Thank you. I have a simple prayer for all the havoc that makes life ugly, may it spark the fire and turn on the light somewhere dark and lonely.

You are light personified, Julie! Thank you for shining on me, during the time of my life’s greatest challenge and for keeping me safely in your heart as each new day dawns. I love you, dear friend!
